Congressman Bryan Steil on Monday led Wisconsin’s congressional delegation in urging Air National Guard Director Michael Loh to give Milwaukee’s 128th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) his full consideration when selecting the next home for a KC-46 refueling tanker.
Lawmakers noted the 128th ARW’s strategic location; its capabilities and assets, including almost 900 personnel, upgraded fuel storage facilities, plans for a pipeline tap and microgram project; its modern amenities, such as an alert facility, small air terminal, and sensitive compartmented information facility; and the community support behind its selection to house the new KC-46 aircraft.
The bipartisan bill’s co-signers include Reps. Gwen Moore, Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Pocan, Glenn Grothman, Derrick Van Orden, and Tom Tiffany. The full letter is available here.
