Madison Parks’ plans to replace the artificial turf of Breese Stevens Field in early 2026 carry an estimated price tag of $850,000, The Capital Times reports.
The field at 917 E. Mifflin St., installed in 2014, has outlived its anticipated lifespan of eight to 10 years, Parks officials said, also citing visible wear.
The project — which would include replacing the turf fabric and infill while keeping the gravel base and drainage system — would be funded through the city’s capital budget, with support from an existing special tax district in the area.
Construction would take three to four weeks, weather permitting, and be targeted for completion before May 1.
