The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) announced its launch of the internship application for the Wisconsin Disability Policy Program, a paid experience to empower people with developmental disabilities and their family members to engage in policy advocacy and leadership. This program is funded by the Inclusa Foundation, with an aim to foster inclusive communities.
BPDD works to improve the independence and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all aspects of community life through advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change.
The Wisconsin Disability Policy Internship aims to train future leaders by equipping people with the knowledge and skills necessary to impact disability policy and advocate for change through four–six month part-time paid internships. This program focuses on professional development, offering work experience and mentorship.
The board will offer an informational session on Oct. 9 from noon–1 p.m. Click here to register.
