Citing low volume, BMO Financial Group Friday announced plans to close 24 bank branches, including 17 in Wisconsin, a move the company said is part of its 2011 acquisition of Marshall & Illsley Corp.
The closings, which include eight in Milwaukee and three in Madison, will eliminate about 130 jobs, but some of the affected workers could end up in other open positions within the company.
With the exception of an M&I branch in Reedsburg, the impacted Wisconsin locations are branches of Harris Bank, which is owned by BMO.
The Milwaukee locations slated to close include: 5400 W. Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee; Â 7955 State Road 60, Cedarburg; Â 1425 W. Mequon Road, Mequon; S63-W13510 Janesville Road, Muskego; 14000 W. National Ave., New Berlin; Â 585 Ryan Road, Pewaukee; Â 524 E. Green Bay Ave., Saukville.
Madison locations include: 3003 E. Washington Ave., 8020 Excelsior Drive, and 6698 Odana Road.
The other branches to close are as follows: 2 Copeland Ave., La Crosse; 200 Golf View Road, Cecil; 525 Water St., Sauk City; 1040 N. Main St., Sheboygan Falls; 1400 Waterloo Ave., West Salem; and 132 S. Park St., Reedsburg.
