Black Earth Meats launches The Conscious Carnivore

The Conscious Carnivore has opened in the Shorewood Village Shopping Center on University Avenue. A retail outlet for Black Earth Meats, the store will focus on educating the public about the food chain, training home cooks in proper meat selection and cooking, and offering locally sourced meats. “We want The Conscious Carnivore to be a place of learning and community building, to reconnect the farmers with the urban consumer,” said Bartlett Durand, managing member of Black Earth Meat Market, LLC, in a release.
