Those who celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey can expect higher poultry prices this year, according to Wisconsin Public Radio.

Purdue University found that an average 15-pound turkey may cost around $30 this Thanksgiving, a 75% price increase when compared to October 2024.

Animal feed costs have gone up due to tariffs on imported feed ingredients. And turkey populations have been hit with bird flu, with over 7 million birds dead from avian influenza.

Minnesota produces the most turkeys in the country, and the state has reported over 660,00 bird deaths this fall from bird flu.
