Bikes for Kids Wisconsin will host Dane County’s largest hands-on recycling event, the Big Breakdown, on Sept. 27 from noon-3 p.m. at the bike center, 354 Coyier Lane in Madison.

Forty volunteers are needed to help tear bikes apart. From October-March, staff and volunteers will refurbish donated bikes to give away in the spring. Volunteers can come to the bike center Monday-Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. a.m. and 5 p.m.

Starting in mid-October, the organization will host volunteer shop nights on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. To learn more or sign up to volunteer, click here.
