Nonprofit Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is launching a new fundraiser to increase transportation access for children and the community, WMTV15 reports. Its Spring Forward Fund, announced Monday, will run from Feb. 20–March 1 and support the organization’s 2025 Bike Giveaway Program.
The program distributes bicycles to people in need across Dane County. Bikes for Kids Wisconsin has donated over 12,600 bikes since 2017. Organizers said the average cost to distribute 2,000 bikes is roughly $280,000.
The nonprofit has set a fundraising goal of $10,000 with $5,000 already committed by an anonymous donor. All contributions will receive a 100% matching donation.
