Bikes for Kids Wisconsin, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to bicycle-based transportation, is distributing 1,400 bicycles through two bike giveaway events; one took place on April 27. Events are not open to the public as every bike has a preregistered owner.

After the 2024 giveaway events, the organization will have distributed over 12,500 bicycles throughout Dane County and Wisconsin since the first bike giveaway in spring 2017.

Over 100 volunteers are helping to distribute bikes to 38 organizations like The River Food Pantry, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Bridge Lakepoint Waunona Neighborhood Center, Reach Dane, JustDane, Dane County Corrections, and more.
