BGCDC opens enrollment for summer Careerforce Build Up programming

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County announced upcoming summer camp opportunities through its Careerforce Build Up programming, now in its third year, according to Madison365. Camps will run from June 17–Aug. 16 at the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center at 5215 Verona Road in Fitchburg.

The variety of offerings range from landscaping camps to entrepreneurship classes and one-week camps to eight-week training programs. All are free to attend and have a 16-participant limit.

Summer programs for youth aged 16 and older include:

  • Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program;

  • Landscaping Camp;

  • BLAZE: Girl Trailblazers in the Trades;

  • Auto Mechanic Camp;

  • Construction Laborers Camp;

  • Conservation Camp at UW Arboretum; and

  • Electricians Camp.

Summer programs for children aged 12–15 include:

  • Careerforce Build UP! Summer Camp;

  • Conservation Camp at UW Arboretum;

  • MMSD Construction Academy–Carpenters;

  • MMSD Construction Academy–Electricians;

  • MMSD Construction Academy–Plumbers; and

  • MMSD Business & Entrepreneurship Academy.
