The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is renewing its advocacy for its small businesses as the community grows.
According to a statement, hundreds of new housing units are coming to the village of Belleville, which straddles Dane and Green counties.
“The time is now to showcase all that is unique and incredible about our community,” new Belleville Chamber of Commerce Board President Josh Wescott said in a statement. “We know we have a hidden gem here right along the Sugar River and we want the region to know our businesses have a lot to offer and our absolute best is yet to come.”
Wescott said that means telling Belleville’s story and ensuring people know about the shopping and dining options the village has to offer.
“This new commitment to our small businesses also creates opportunity to work collaboratively with our neighbors and find new ways to support all businesses throughout the Sugar River corridor,” he said.
One of the ways Belleville collaborates is by supporting other chambers like the one in New Glarus.
“Working together as communities is what keeps the Sugar River Valley strong, vibrant and thriving for generations to come,” New Glarus Chamber Executive Director Annie O’Connor said in a statement. “When we support one another, celebrate each other’s successes and invest in the growth of our neighboring communities, we all benefit in the long run.”
Belleville also works with the Green County Development Corporation.
Some of the village’s goals include redeveloping downtown, encouraging new business growth and preserving the village’s character.
“Our intention is to act with purpose and be bold, promoting the shared excellence of the hometown we are all so proud of, and be clear that Belleville is unequivocally open for business,” Wescott said. “We are going to bring folks together around a common cause, making Belleville the very best place to be.”
