Madison-based Bell Laboratories sold its Tomcat rodent-control business to Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. The agreement sets up a partnership between Scotts and Bell Labs that will allow Bell Labs to continue to profit from Tomcat product sales for the next 20 years. The local company will be the exclusive manufacturer of Tomcat products and will also retain research and regulatory responsibilities.
As a result of the deal, Bell Laboratories is looking to expand its local manufacturing and warehouse capacity in early 2014 and will likely add staff down the road.
