Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Dane County is launching its 2025 recruitment campaign, “The Big Draft,” to recruit the next generation of mentors. Backed by Mark Murphy, president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, the initiative aims to help champion and empower Wisconsin’s youth.
During the three-month campaign, which will run February–April, BBBS is looking to recruit at least 100 new volunteer “bigs” or mentors, especially those from diverse backgrounds, with a continued focus on men and men of color. Currently, about 130 children are on the waitlist for a mentor, and 90 of those are boys.
BBBS will kick off the campaign with a happy hour event from 4–6 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Me & Julio in Fitchburg. The event will include networking, drinks, snacks, and raffle prizes. The event is free but registration is highly recommended.
