According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the rising popularity of food delivery apps is proving costly for small, local restaurants and their delivery drivers, NBC15 reports. Fees and royalties can add up, with delivery apps able to take 20–30% in royalties per order.

The BBB says the best way to support local restaurants is ordering their food directly and not through third-party apps, which can cut into their profits. In turn, supporting small, local businesses helps keep their prices down for consumers.
