Baraboo’s 1881 Italianate building has been sold.

Owner Karen Stanley made the announcement on social media on Tuesday.

Fabiola Desireé, owner of Munay Pastry Shop in Baraboo, was announced as the person taking over the property to expand her Peruvian bakery.

Stanley opened the local cafe with outdoor seating in 2019. Bella Vita, which means “beautiful life” in Italian, on the corner of Ash and First streets, brought espresso drinks, baked items and breakfast and lunch fare to the community.

Both the historic home and cottage portion, where the cafe is housed, went up for sale in March.

“(Fabiola) has exciting plans to take the historic property to the next level,” Stanley said in a statement. “She has the passion and vision to grow and expand her successful Peruvian bakery, and the Baraboo community is in for a real treat.”
