Baraboo’s 1881 Italianate building is for sale.
Karen Stanley opened the local cafe with outdoor seating in 2019. Bella Vita, which means “beautiful life” in Italian, on the corner of Ash and First streets, brought espresso drinks, baked items and breakfast and lunch fare to the community.
“Over the years I’ve had many people ask if I would ever consider selling, and my answer was always a hard no,” Stanley said in a statement. “But now with life transitions and moving to Washington last fall, I feel it’s time to say, ‘Yes.’ I am hopeful someone will want to continue on with the cafe, as I would love to pass Bella Vita on to the next creative entrepreneur and have them take it to the next level.”
The cafe will be open during regular hours until March 23.
Both the historic home and the cottage portion, of which Bella Vita is housed, are for sale.
