A bankrupt hot-air balloon company has left hundreds of ticket purchasers across three states holding tickets that will never be redeemed. According to an investigative piece from WISC-TV, The Great American Balloon Co., parent of several balloon operations including Token Creek Hot Air Balloon Co. outside of Madison, sold $350,000 in unused tickets to customers in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida as far back as 2010. Many customers had paid as much as $225 per ticket and have been trying since then to schedule flights, but have been met with excuses and delays from the company, according to the reports.

Moglia Advisors, the Illinois company hired to handle the balloon company’s liquidation, is now hoping to find investors willing to purchase six hot-air balloons and equipment to benefit those customers. Bids are being accepted and an auction to raise money to help pay back consumers will be held on Sept. 12.

Those with unredeemed tickets are asked to email info@mogliaadvisors.com to request a claim form for any possible reimbursement.
