Wisconsin bankers are forecasting that loan demand will stay the same over the next six months for all surveyed loan categories, according to the latest Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) Bank CEO Economic Conditions Survey.

Wisconsin’s economy is expected to stay the same in the first six months of 2016, according to 62% of respondents to the WBA survey.

Over 50% of bankers responding to the survey say the current demand for commercial lending as well as residential lending is good or fair while 46% say the same for business loans. Over 50% of bankers responded that agricultural lending demand is currently fair. In all four categories, 50% or more of respondents believe loan demand will stay the same.

Charles L. Evans, president and CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch will both be speaking at the upcoming Wisconsin Economic Forecast Luncheon on Jan. 7. This event will be hosted by the WBA at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
