U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin was reelected today to a third term representing Wisconsin, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. With 49.4% of the vote, she narrowly defeated Eric Hovde, who in turn received 48.5%.
Hovde reportedly appeared to have a slight lead after polls closed Tuesday night, but tens of thousands of votes — including many from Milwaukee, with its high Democrat population — had yet to be counted.
Baldwin raised over $38 million for her campaign compared to Hovde’s $28 million — $20 million of which he loaned to his campaign.
