After two and a half years in the works, Baked Wings & Things opened on State Street on Tuesday, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Delays reportedly stemmed from financing to renovation logistics and more.

The restaurant at 250 State St. will offer bone-in chicken wings among other scratch-made menu items like smash burgers, chicken tenders, salads, sides and desserts.

Both order-at-the-counter and full-service meals will be available at the new business, which has a dining room and a new bar. The restaurant will stay open until 3 a.m. Thursday-Saturday for bar-time patrons.

Bryan Suh, the restaurant’s director of operations, opened the original Baked Wings & Things in Loves Park, a suburb of Rockford, in November 2022 with Scott Frank and Marti McKinney. That location closed after two and a half years, and Frank left the business. McKinney is now sole owner of Baked Wings & Things.

The 5,000-square-foot space now housing the restaurant had been vacant for nearly nine years before Baked Wings & Things committed to the space.
