Badger Bus was recently notified by the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) that a decision was made to switch bus carriers for the transportation of all students in the city of Madison effective with the 2023–2024 school year, according to a statement from Badger Bus.

Badger Bus’ transportation history for MMSD dates to the 1940s, and next school year will be the first time in over 70 years that Badger Bus will not be transporting MMSD students to and from school.

Badger Bus will continue to have a presence in the Madison area, providing transportation for MMSD through the end of the 2022–2023 school year, as well as for summer school, ending in July 2023. Additionally, its school bus division will continue to provide transportation for the Verona Area School District as well as the Beaver Dam Unified School District. Badger Bus also recently renewed its contract with Madison Metro to continue providing para-transit transportation. And the company will continue its motorcoach division that operates between Madison and Milwaukee area as well as its charter services for groups.
