Auditors for the University of Wisconsin System have identified several errors in the bidding process for an information technology project at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The audit looked at the university’s search for a vendor to start its program to transform the school’s administrative services to a cloud-based system and found errors including two perceived conflicts of interest and several violations of state procurement policy. One of the losing vendors, Deloitte Consulting, alleged that competitors, Huron and Accenture, helped craft part of the bid and were then selected for roughly $800,000 contracts. Deloitte had initially earned the highest score in the process.
