Atwood Avenue has reopened for traffic in both directions as of last Friday, according to Channel3000. The move follows eight months of construction closures.

Business owners nearby were impacted by the closures, with the owner of Michael’s Frozen Custard saying sales over the summer — normally the shop’s most profitable time of year — were down 50–60%.

The reopening is anticipated to bring a new influx of customers. Among the street’s upgrades is a new path for pedestrians and bicyclists that will increase safety and accessibility.
