The ATHENA Award program, aimed at supporting, developing, and honoring women leaders, is asking for nominations by Dec. 20, 2021, for the annual award. According to the program, the ATHENA Award “honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and forge paths of leadership for other women to follow.” Criteria for ATHENA recipients are:
- Demonstrated excellence, creativity, and initiative in the recipient’s business or profession;
- Valuable service provided by the recipient to improve the quality of life for others in their community; and
- Assistance to women by the recipient to help them reach their full leadership potential.
Nominations are reviewed by the ATHENA Award Committee and considered by a panel of community leaders who will select the ATHENA Award recipient.
