The Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin has endorsed Gov. Scott Walker in the forthcoming recall election.
AGC represents more than 650 members, including general and specialty contractors and associates. “Wisconsin’s future prosperity and growth are at risk during this recall election,” said AGC President Kurt Boson of The Boson Company, Marshfield, in a press release. “In addition, the legitimacy of the entire political process is at risk when a duly elected public official can be recalled for instituting policies intended to save our state from future financial ruin.”
Boson said the state is on the cusp of “great economic growth” thanks to Walker’s pro-business initiatives, and added that a recall of the Governor “will send this state backwards into a prolonged recession and anti-business path.”
Walker has been endorsed by professional associations and even public employee unions, including the Milwaukee Police and Firefighters.
Meanwhile, Democrat candidate Kathleen Falk, a former Dane County Executive, has been endorsed by unions representing state workers and public school teachers, while her main primary opponent, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, has received the endorsements of U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl, retired Congressman Dave Obey, and Congressman Ron Kind.
