Earlier this year, Whitehall-based Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. was slapped with $1.8 million in proposed fines resulting from safety inspections at its Arcadia, Wis. plant. Now, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is proposing another $431,000 in fines for alleged safety violations at the same plant. Ashley officials are vehemently contesting the citations and fines.
