Verona’s Art House 360 received a $50,000 grant from the Evjue Foundation, the charitable arm of The Capital Times, according to The Verona Press. The funds will support the nonprofit’s work to provide wellness through the arts.
The organization has reportedly raised $1.6 million of its $3 million capital campaign, which aims to build a new multicultural arts center to help expand access to the arts. So far, the city of Verona, Dane County, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., and private individuals have contributed to the renovation of Verona’s historic downtown schoolhouse, planned to become a hub for cultural exchange and artistic expression.
Art House 360 will also host its first fundraising event, “Dancing with the Arts,” on Aug. 16 at Century School Park from 5–9 p.m. The event will include live music, multicultural food offerings from local vendors, and opportunities to view progress inside the historic schoolhouse. Barrio Dance, Latin Pride Orquesta, Triangulador, and DJ B.P.Lar will perform live.
