Area home sales up while inventory remains tight

Increasing demand and lack of supply were the key takeaways from the latest home sales report from the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin.

The December report shows sales throughout the region increased by 1,369, an 8.3% increase over the same timeframe in 2019. Additionally, lack of inventory continued for the fifth straight month with supply averaging just two months across the region. In Dane County, inventory averaged just 1.6 months. Home prices increased throughout the region by 8.4% and 6.8% in Dane County.
