Mount Horeb-based OneEvent Technologies Inc. will be using predictive analytics to monitor refrigeration temperatures and predict potential breakdowns of refrigerators and freezers to protect the COVID-19 vaccine inventory, according to a release from the company.
The World Health Organization estimates 50% of vaccines may be wasted globally every year, and waste in unopened vials is usually attributed to cold chain and stock management problems. OneEvent Technologies’ system provides remote, real-time monitoring through a cellular gateway, collecting data from door and temperature and sensors and storing data in the cloud to verify that conditions are normal. Predictive analytics are also used to discern temperature variation during normal use, including warming, cooling, and defrost cycles.
