Print may not be dead, but it’s taking a new beating.
The Associated Press announced Monday it is offering buyouts to U.S.-based journalists to expedite its move away from print journalism, the Associated Press reported.
According to the report, over 120 staff members received a buyout offer.
These days, print, typically from large newspaper companies, only accounts for 10% of the AP’s revenue, with the company pursuing more visual journalism.
“We’re not a newspaper company and we haven’t been for quite some time,” Julie Pace, executive editor and senior vice president of the AP, said in an interview with the AP.
