If you’re beginning to wonder if any segment of the $175 million Judge Doyle Square project will ever get built, you probably have a lot of company.

According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, the latest snag is due to a substandard air transfer system that will require remedial work, delaying the opening of a public parking garage and bike center until June.

This particular delay will also set back the planned demolition of the Government East parking garage, but it is not expected to postpone the start of construction of a hotel and apartments.

At the moment, the city is focused on completing a $50.4 million parking structure that includes a 560-space underground parking garage, first-floor commercial space, and a bike center operated by Freewheel Community Bike Shop. Originally, the underground garage was supposed to be completed by October 2019.
