Next month, Amtrak will reduce the number of stops in Portage, Wisconsin Dells, and Columbus in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report at Madison.com. The reduction to three stops a week also is a response to ridership decreasing nationally.
The stops affected by the changes in Wisconsin are part of the Empire Builder line that currently runs daily from Chicago to Seattle. Reduced service on this line will begin Oct. 19.
