The 2023 PGA Tour Champions American Family Insurance Championship raised a reported $2,435,000, representing the highest total ever raised from years the event has been held. This brings the total amount raised for charity to $17,248,000 since the inaugural event in 2016, benefiting 847 nonprofit organizations.
Approximately half of the 2023 proceeds will be distributed to the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, and 147 primarily local charities will share the rest in varying amounts. The total proceeds raised, and charitable organizations supported, were revealed at an event Wednesday held at American Family Insurance’s corporate headquarters.
Among the other organizations besides American Family Children’s Hospital to receive the grant funds are:
- Families & Schools Together, aiming to nurture the potential of children by uniting families, schools, and communities;
- Foundation for Dane County Parks, a team raising funds to support all of the Dane County parks by promoting volunteerism, education, interpretation, and community involvement; and
- The River Food Pantry, with a mission to provide food, resources, and faith to build a stronger, fully nourished community.
Next year’s event will be held June 1–9, with special events during the week and tournament play at University Ridge from June 7–9. Steve Stricker will host the tournament for the eighth time and play for the seventh time, where he will defend his 2023 title.
