AmeriCorps to provide $3.3M funding for Dane, Columbia county programs

AmeriCorps will fund 27 programs across the state of Wisconsin, including six programs that exclusively serve Dane and Columbia counties, NBC15 reports.

On Monday, Serve Wisconsin announced that $14.8 million in AmeriCorps grant funding will go toward various state programs, with $3.3 million supporting programs in Dane and Columbia counties. The funding will put 936 AmeriCorps members at upwards of 200 service sites throughout Wisconsin.

Among supported programs are Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County, Dane County Department of Human Services–Partners for After School Success, Easterseals Wisconsin, Renewal Unlimited Inc. Fresh Start Program, United Way of Dane County–Achievement Connections, UW System–Wisconsin 4-H Expanding Access, Wisconsin Association for Homeless and Runaway Services, and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Farm to School.
