In a recent poll of 30,302 Americans from research firm Piplsay, a significant percentage of respondents expressed concern over the COVID-19 vaccine. Key survey findings include:
- 42% of Americans are extremely sure about getting a vaccine when one becomes available; 23% not convinced at all;
- 62% of respondents are worried about the vaccines’ efficacy against the newly identified virus strain;
- Given the pressure to quickly develop an effective vaccine, 74% of respondents trust the government to make the right decisions about vaccines for mass use; and
- 38% of respondents will rely on health authorities for vaccine-related assurances, while 33% of respondents will follow advice from their family doctor.
