American Girl announced it is closing its Middleton corporate offices, according to Channel3000. About 30 employees will be impacted. Their exit dates range from Friday, Feb. 16–early September.
A small team of corporate functions will continue remotely, and the warehouse in DeForest will remain.
The company was founded in Middleton in 1986 and sold to Mattel in 1998. An investment group with shares in Mattel earlier this month urged the company to sell American Girl and Fisher-Price to bolster sagging stock prices.
