Madison-based American Family Insurance Co. continues pursuing a structure change and needs 75% of about 3.7 million policyholders to approve the idea in order to move forward.
The company wants to create a mutual holding company that would become the parent to American Family Mutual Insurance Co.
The change would allow the company flexibility to offer more insurance products across more states.
