In a recent update to plans for its Cottage Grove facility, Amazon is set to break ground on the company’s newest Fulfillment Center located at 4675 County Highway TT in Cottage Grove on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The operational facility will provide up to 1,000 jobs in a new 3 million-square-foot building and aim to improve delivery service and speed for Madison-area customers.

This represents the second operations facility in Dane County, along with a delivery station in Madison. Amazon will also be delivering a large community donation during the ceremony.

The company’s investments in Wisconsin to date include:

  • $11 billion invested statewide since 2010, including infrastructure and compensation to its employees;

  • $11 billion added into state GDP as a result of its investments;

  • 12,000 full- and part-time jobs created in Wisconsin as of January 2024;

  • 18,700 indirect jobs supported on top of its direct hires in the state (based on input-output methodology developed by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis); and

  • 5,500-plus independent sellers — most of which are small and medium-sized businesses — in Wisconsin, selling more than 35 million items on Amazon in 2023.
