Major businesses like Asana, Snapchat, Signal and Fortnite were down on Monday morning, according to the Associated Press.
Amazon Web Services provides cloud computing infrastructure for numerous entities, including government departments, universities and businesses.
Amazon’s own products were also affected, with Ring doorbell cameras and Alexa-powered smart devices not working.
The outage was pinpointed to a domain name system issue. Companies began having issues at about 3 a.m., with services beginning to be restored at about 6 a.m. Eastern time. According to Downdetector, many services were still experiencing outages.
Amazon previously had outages in 2023, 2021, 2020 and 2017.
