Alpine Slicing and Cheese Conversion Co. of Monroe voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. The company took the action on concerns about related claims from retail business customers after Listeria bacteria were found in late 2011, leading to a cheese recall. Plant operations will continue at the 7-year-old company, and its 90 employees will reportedly not be affected during proceedings.
