Madison-based Alliant Energy Corp. plans to build a 69-turbine wind farm in central Iowa.
The English Farms Wind Farm in Poweshiek County, Iowa is a 170-megawatt project aimed at the utility’s Iowa customers. The energy produced could power around 50,000 average Iowa homes a year, according to Alliant’s website.
Construction is slated to begin in late 2018 and be completed about a year later.
