Alliant Energy Corp., parent of Wisconsin Power & Light in Madison and Interstate Power & Light in Iowa, saw a decrease in fourth quarter earnings but reported higher profits for all of 2013. For the quarter ending Dec. 31, Alliant reported earnings of $65.5 million (59 cents/share) on revenues of $832.6 million. A year earlier, the company reported earnings of $68.3 million (62 cents/share) on revenues of $750.9 million for the same quarter.
For all of 2013, Alliant reported profits of $358.3 million ($3.23/share) on revenues of $3.3 billion, which was an increase over 2012, when the company posted profits of $319.8 million ($2.89/share) on revenues of $3.1 billion.
