A 277-megawatt wind farm is being planned for construction in Columbia County, Wisconsin Public Radio reports.
Alliant Energy applied to build the new $730 million wind farm, which is expected to power about 100,000 homes annually, with the Public Service Commission in late December.
The project would contain over 40 wind turbines. More than 300 landowners have already signed lease agreements for the wind project.
