The Public Service Commission granted preliminary approval to a plan for Alliant Energy to increase its basic rates by about $8.00 per month, starting in January for average residential natural gas and electricity customers.
Basic electric rates haven’t increased since 2010 and will increase 0.83%. Natural gas rates will rise 12.8%.
