Alliant accelerates plans for carbon-neutral electricity

Madison-based Alliant Energy has stepped up plans to reach net-zero carbon dioxide emissions from its electricity generation by 2040 instead of 2050 as originally planned, according to a release from the company.

The company is exploring plans that would make it the largest solar energy generator in Wisconsin and announced it is on track to cut its 2005 carbon emissions in half by 2030.
