Airport reports jump in traffic

The May 2022 activity report from the Dane County Regional Airport shows a 53.8% increase in passengers leaving Madison and a 55.3% increase in travelers arriving in Madison for May over the same period last year. Year-to-date passenger travel is up dramatically over 2021 with an 86.7% increase in passengers leaving Madison and an 84.8% increase in passengers arriving in Madison for the period ending on May 31. Military and general aviation aircraft movements were down (-12.4% and -8.9% respectively) while air carrier and air taxi traffic grew by 32.1%. The FAA Control Tower reports an overall rise of 4.2% in aircraft movements for year-to-date 2022 over 2021.
