AI drags Wall Street lower

Wall Street losses are being reported by the Associated Press as AI-related shares drag markets down.

The S&P 500 fell 0.6%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.7% and the Nasdaq Futures fell 0.7%. Respectively, the numbers sit at 6,672, 45,590 and 22,708 as of 8 a.m. Central time.

Nvidia, which had been strong recently with its computer chips used for AI, fell 1.1% ahead of its Wednesday earnings report. It also dropped 1.9% on Monday, and overall, it is down 8.6% this month.

Other chipmakers that tumbled include Micron, Intel and Qualcomm, all losing between 1%-2%.

Microsoft fell 1.5% and Amazon dropped 1.8%.

Also falling was retailer Home Depot, which dropped 3.1% after reporting profits that did not reach Wall Street targets.
