Agrace, one of Dane County’s largest employers, announced it will require each of its more than 1,600 employees and volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect the vulnerable patients in its care. Agrace cares for nearly 1,500 seriously ill individuals, the elderly, and people at the end of life in southern Wisconsin. Agrace employees are required to receive their first dose of the COVID vaccine by Sept. 1, 2021, and their second dose (if they have chosen the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) by Oct. 1. Medical and religious exemptions are allowed by law. Agrace is a nonprofit health care organization that provides adult day care, senior care, supportive care, hospice care, and grief support to people who are aging, ill, or dying. Most of the agency’s services are provided in people’s homes.
