Agora Art Fair returns to Fitchburg for 16th year

More than 100 Wisconsin artists will gather for the 16th annual Agora Art Fair on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Agora Center in Fitchburg, 5500 E. Cheryl Parkway.

The event will include local and regional artists from media including painting, ceramics, jewelry, photography, glass, metals, woodwork, mixed media, fiber, and sculpture. Featured artists include Steven Wagner, Will Schueler, Jon Walton, Kerri Shannon, and many others.

The Agora Art Fair will run from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and is free to attend and open to the public. It will take place rain or shine. Plenty of free parking will be available. Volunteer opportunities are available as well.

  • A Madison Public Art Project booth with three art stations of activities highlighting sustainability;

  • An MMoCA Art Cart for Kids, with a variety of activities and instruction available for children;

  • Cycropia Aerial Dance, a Madison-based aerial dance troupe that will perform under the Agora Pavilion from 1:30–2 p.m.;

  • A live music lineup including the Madison Flute Club (9:30 a.m.) playing under the Agora Pavilion, the Red Hot Horn Dawgs (10 a.m.) and Frank Busch & The Names (2 p.m.) playing on the main stage, and the CT & the Breeze Duo (2 p.m.) performing on the Art Stage;

  • Food offerings including Chippy’s Kettle Corn, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, Curd Girl, The Good Bowl, Jakarta CafĂ©, Kona Ice of Madison, Pancho’s Tacos, RMN Mini Donuts, Rolling Pin Bake Shop, Soho Gourmet Cuisine, and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee;

  • A Wisconsin craft brewery beer garden; and

  • Art in the Wind, where attendees can build and fly kites.
