State Sen. Melissa Agard emerged the winner in the race for Dane County executive, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Agard led former Dane County Supervisor Dana Pellebon, who is also the executive director of the RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center, almost two-to-one, with roughly two-thirds of precincts reporting.
Agard has served in the state Legislature since 2013. She led Pellebon in fundraising and endorsements from business and political leaders.
Agard will serve out the remainder of former Dane County Executive Joe Parisi’s term, and another county executive contest will elect a successor to a four-year term. Parisi has backed Agard for the permanent role.
